• You have to have both plugged in but the sound bar off and hit pair on the back of the subwoofer if I remember correctly.

• 1) Plug in both the sound bar and the subwoofer. 2) Power the sound bar on 3) Push the pairing button on the back of the subwoofer You may need to plug the sound bar into a source first and then power that source on to make sure the sound is coming from the sound bar. Once you have confirmed that the sound is coming from the sound bar, go ahead and push the pairing button on the back of the subwoofer. I hope this is helpful.
