“So I just purchased this tv for my parents, and am wondering how to default it to power up to HDMI1 or the last used input. They are not very tech savvy & this will be a problem for them & we may have to return it if we can not figure this out.”

It should automatically power up a d default to the last input used. I am using HDMI 1/ ARC hooked up to my xbox series x and it automatically defaults to it everytime i turn on the tv. Most tvs also have a auto detect that will default to any device that is currently on and switch tomthat input. So just make sure your setup to the cable box or whatever your using so it defaults on power up.
