“I have Dish Network, Wi-Fi connectivity isn't greatly available, I do use Viasat, which has data limits...can I connect my Dish Network to this tv and use as a regular tv? Or will I have issues with that hook up?”

Fire TV has a dish anywhere app (just like your phone). So as long as you have decent internet and a dish anywhere compatible receiver, you can use the app to was everything from dish including your DVR. It is like adding another Dish Joey 4K Reciever without having to pay the monthly fee. This is how I am running it in my office. Power from the wall and that is the only connection. I can watch my dish, Netflix, prime, YouTube, etc...
