“I have Direct TV - however the genie remote will not work on the home page so that means I have to use both remotes - one will not work on the home page and the other will not work on the Direct TV - does anyone know the code to program the remote”

Try the Power On feature, go Home > Settings > Display & Sounds > Power On and select Last Input. Use the included remote to control your TV. Use the Genie remote to control DirecTV. David M. - Toshiba Support
