Although the remote seems sparse, it does operate the TV well. It's just understanding the menu structure of the TV. One tip. Just tapping the Home button will exit what you may be watching take you to the TV's home screen, where holding the Home button for a bit, will bring up the sub-menu on screen without changing the source being watched.
