• You do not need an Amazon account to use the Basic experience on this TV. To use the Full Experience, you need a free Amazon account to download and you need a Prime Video Subscription to watch Prime Video content.

• Not at the basic FireTV level, but yes at the "Full" FireTV level. However, the Amazon Prime/Netflix/HBO/Hulu buttons on the remote are almost useless unless you have a corresponding account to each set-up. From the user manual: Select your experience: Full (Recommended) or Basic. • Full: Get the most out of your experience with access to live TV, over 500,000 movies and TV episodes, thousands of apps, and Alexa skills. To get started, sign in or sign up for a free Amazon account. • Basic: This experience is limited to live TV and only six streaming apps. Alexa and the full Appstore are not included.
