I'm using the Insignia 2.1 and it is amazing for the price!! It can be controlled through the TV volume when using the analog audio output. I haven't tried it with the optical audio connection. Also, you will need to initially "level match" the sound bar by setting a fixed volume point on it and then let the TV's audio output do the adjusting. I opted to let the tv play BOTH the internal speakers and the soundbar simultaneously with the internal speakers playing a bit lower than the soundbar. It made the audio image appear to have more depth, but that requires some dialing in to get it right.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have cable box/DVR from my local cable company with remote that is programable to control the TV/ DVR/AUD & DVD. It will control soundbars (just need the code that is in the remote programming instructions). I have one button on the remote for SYSTEM POWER which I use to control the TV/DVR/Soundbar. So, I am able to power everything on with one press of the button and control the volume of the soundbar with the same remote. Check with your cable/satellite provider to see if their programable remotes will operate soundbars.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a sound bar with this tv hooked up via optical. You cannot control the sound bar volume with the tv. It is either on or off. You'll have to use the sound bar remote to control that volume. Myself I haven't had an issue with that though but it does tend to clutter the table with remotes if that's your concern.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have both and you can use both but i usually turn down the volume on the tv and just use the Sound bar. You can get any Sound Bar just as long as you have the optical cable for it, it is recommended. It connects from the Sound Bar to the TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.typically you use the soundbar remote to control it, my Panasonic is that way, when I enable the optical out, theres no controlling it. HOWEVER my directv remote will control my soundbar that I have, so the 1 directv remote does it all for me.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am no expert. But in order for you to controll from the tv your source must come from it. Ex: you should connect your br, media plauer to the tv and thr tv ouput the spun through optical cable to your bar. That way you migjt be able to control it from the tv. You might need to enter your tv config in sound and changenits configuration to let it knownyou are using an outside source speakerr. I thinks it variable sound or something like that. I think is easier to get a universal remote that can control both your tv and bar.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The stereo earphone jack can be set to have the TV's internal speakers either on or off when the jack is in use. The earphone jack's volume is controlled with the TV's remote's volume buttons so you should be able to set your sound bar volume once (to match the TV volume) and then it will vary along with the TV's volume. Hope I have answered your questions.
