• It's a good brand, but Toshiba is not making the entire set like they once did. They partnered with Compal Electronics who also manufactures for Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc... It's a custom firmware and I believe is still engineered by Toshiba. Toshiba is primarily a chip manufacturer (and a very good one) and is also making chips for the iPhone 7 and other Apple products. They are a struggling company that is rebuilding after the cut rate tv craze a few years ago that many companies couldn't compete in (including Mitsubishi), but they are growing again. A lot of Toshiba LCD TV's have LG panels in them, so picture quality should be comparable.
