Product Manuals

Q: Is Toshiba still a great tv I know awhile back it was considered one of the best tvs but now lg and Samsung is considered the best

A: It's a good brand, but Toshiba is not making the entire set like they once did. They partnered with Compal Electronics who also manufactures for Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc... It's a custom firmware and I believe is still engineered by Toshiba. Toshiba is primarily a chip manufacturer (and a very good one) and is also making chips for the iPhone 7 and other Apple products. They are a struggling company that is rebuilding after the cut rate tv craze a few years ago that many companies couldn't compete in (including Mitsubishi), but they are growing again. A lot of Toshiba LCD TV's have LG panels in them, so picture quality should be comparable.

Q: does googlecast HAVE to be used or is it just a new way of making it a "Smart" TV? so instead of having apps loaded into the TV you must use your phone? wouldnt that slow the connection if you have a poor signal? zero experience with googlecast.

A: You can use it as a regular TV for over the air tv channels or use the HDMI inputs if you don't care about the Chromecast Features. It's a different kind of smart tv and chromecast is not for everyone. You must use a digital device to set up and control the chromecast (Smart) Feature of the TV. When you install Netflix on it, you must use your iPhone for example, to tell it what videos to play. It doesn't stream netflix from your phone, but tells the tv what URL to load. Also if you use a computer with Google Chrome on it, you can install the google chromecast add on to it to mirror the entire screen (or just the browser window) to the TV. It works very nice, but is not your everyday Smart TV. I would like to see Google develop the chromecast further to run via an on screen interface, but for what it is now, it works very well.

Q: Is the tv worth the money? How crisp is the picture?

A: For me this was definitely worth the money. I did get it at a deal buying it on a deal of the day but seeing it work I would have payed more for it and still been happy. Watching TV through a digital receiver or a PS3 looks great. Some of the older shows are a bit grainy but I expected that. I have not tried and actual 4K movie yet but the HD picture seems so much more real.

Q: Why are there no reviews...nothing at all?

A: it hasnt even been delivered to stores yet, just released a few days ago

Q: Can I put a bracket on the back of this TV?

A: Yes is has the standard VESA mounting option. It's quite light and can be mounted on a wall easily.

Q: How big is the box that it comes in ? Need to bring the right vehicle to transport.

A: The box is very large. I'm guessing 70" x 48" x 8". It weighs about 50#. You need a large van or a pickup truck. This will not fit in a car.
