While the drive itself can be used with your Macbook, the NTI Backup Now EZ software on the drive is Windows only.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Plug the drive into one of the USB ports. Go to the folder on the drive that says NTI. Open that folder and then open the program. I don't know if it will work with a MAC but you will know if it opens or not. If it does not open you will have to get a MAC backup program.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Plug it into your Mac. It should mount on the desktop. (Don't worry if it doesn't) Launch Disk Utility and Partition the drive into ONE partition. Choose Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) as the format. Under OPTIONS, choose GUID. Hit the Apply button and you should be good to go P

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't worry about the included software. Just format the drive as a Mac drive and it should work just fine. The included software isn't so great anyway so you're not losing anything.
