• The drive comes with backup software (no additional cost) that needs to be installed on your computer and then set up. The setup is easy and straight forward so just follow the instructions.

• mine had a folder to install it from, and think it was optional at the time. i installed it thinking it was driver software, lol. but didn't need backup software lol

• The back up software is on the hard drive. You will need to install it on your PC from the external drive.

• For the back up software you will need to make a disc when you first use the computer so that you will have that if needed.
