It was used on the xb1 first and now hes trying to hook it up to the computer and it will not work without wanting to format. If he would have formatted on computer first would it still be saying the same thing, or could it be because the xb1 has a Windows 10 format, while his computer is still Windows 7?”

To use it on a computer, you will have to reformat. Sorry, this is true regardless puff foundation of Xbox ONE architecture.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It can't do both because of the Xbox One, nothing to do with the pc. The Xbox One requires a full proprietary format and will only allow one partition per drive. I had wanted to do the same thing with my Windows 10 PC.
