Will this router work with a 1 gb modem? null

Yes, the Archer C6 is equipped with Gigabit Ethernet ports.

Yes but you will only put out the closest to 1gb through ethernet otherwise it's 700mb and 400mb respectively I believe. Something like that. Still fast wifi and it can handle many devices at once without getting too bogged down.
