This answer is probably too late, but here goes: this is not a modem, it's a router, and it does not have a coax input. If you have an ethernet port in your shed AND that ethernet port is connected at the other end to an active modem, then yes, it would work. But unless your shed is pretty small and you don't need wifi outside of it, I wouldn't buy this. The range is very limited.
