Hi! For outdoor, long range Wi-Fi distribution, we would recommend opting for one of our TP-Link Outdoor Wi-Fi solutions, such as the EAP225-Outdoor, EAP610-Outdoor, or EAP650-Outdoor (omnidirectional outdoor access point models), or a point-to-point configuration using two CPE devices, such as our CPE710 models, to establish a connection between the main residence and the workshop. For assistance determining which configuration would best suit your networking needs, feel free to contact our official TP-Link support team using the support portal on our TP-Link website.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Pro version has a strong wifi amplifier for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels. 180 feet through walls may be a weak signal so slow speeds. If you add an RE715X extender in Mesh mode with better line of site or even near a wall facing your workshop it would help. You'll need to test different locations and antenna patterns to get the best signal strength. The router itself has a very strong signal... way better than my ac1200 access points in my previous setup and those would reach far distances. But the AX3000 pro is at least 10dB stronger. Maybe even 15dB. And even the 5GHz band is very strong which surprised me. Its a great and stable router but update the firmware before you set it up.
