This router does not contain a cable modem, so docsis 3.1 does not apply. If your fiber company's interface provides a wired Ethenet connection, then this router should work for you. Some fiber companies include a wireless router for their customers, in which case you wouldn't need this.

DOCSIS technology and connectivity is the role of a cable modem. As long as the router is connected to your existing Internet source (e.g., modem, ONT, gateway) via Ethernet cable, it should work fine.
