• No, this works as a router and mesh Wi-Fi system. If your Internet service requires a modem, you will need a separate modem that can be connected to the primary Deco unit via Ethernet cable.

• If you are running cable internet then no you will need their model, if you are fiber (ex. Frontier), then you could request them to run RJ45 from the fiber box instead of coax and use this by itself. I have that setup in my apartment.
