Hi MillterTyme, Deco Mesh Wi-Fi Systems can replace an existing router (generally recommended for the most feature-rich and comprehensive mesh experience), or they can be used in Access Point Mode if you prefer to keep your existing router at the head of your network.

Please try again later.Technically either way, but ideally you don’t need 2 routers unless it has some value outside that, such as providing VPN to your whole network, IDS, IPS, advanced firewall, or other software that the Deco can’t. But it can’t replace the modem - the device that connects to whatever media (fiber, coaxial, cellular) brings the connection into the house. So if you have a combined modem, router from your ISP, you can’t replace it. You might be able to turn off routing functions in the combined device, but not necessary.
