A:AnswerThe camera comes with a cable attached to it that has a USB male end on it for power that plugs into a 110v USB wall adapter that comes with it (just like cell phones use). So you do need a 110v house power source near by.
For my outdoor installations I plugged several extension cords into one electrical outlet in the attic, ran each cord to the location of the camera outside, drilled a hole near each camera and ran the camera's USB type cord into the attic to the extension cord.
A:AnswerIf by "5G" you are referring to 5GHz WiFi, then yes; the camera supports dual-band WiFi connectivity (2.4GHz and 5GHz)

A:AnswerThe only way to shorten the power cord would be to cut the cord in the middle, splice the wires together and then water-proof the junction. That would probably be an unsafe way to accomplish it.
The camera does not have provision for onboard storage but there is free short-term storage through the app and you can pay for longer term storage.
A:AnswerHi! We always recommend ensuring your router's WiFi signal is adequately strong in the smart device's location. Within the Kasa Smart app there's a feature that allows you to measure WiFi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu.
If the signal is within the ideal range and you're still experiencing these symptoms, please email [email protected] and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.
Thank you,

A:AnswerYes it does. You can carry on a conversation but it is like a walkie talkies, only one person can speak at a time. You can talk to your pet if you want. It also has a "buzzer" feature. You can press a button on your phone app and it makes a buzzer type noise to scare trespassers I suppose.
