• You can control from you phone BUT the plug itself has to have a Wi-Fi connection to connect to. Without Wi-Fi there is no way for the plug to connect to the internet to GET the signal from your phone. I’m not aware of ANY device like this that doesn’t have to have a wireless internet connection to control remotely. Hope that helps!
