unless you have a smart coffee pot that has a static program to execute with your choices the only way I see the pot starting automatically is by using the old type Mr.Coffee pot with a manual switch that can be left on. The pot can then be controlled by the smart plug. Tony

Smart plugs operate by allowing or preventing the flow of electricity to the connected appliance - much like plugging or un-plugging the appliance from the power outlet. If your coffee maker does not automatically turn on and begin brewing as soon as it is plugged into a power outlet, then a smart plug will be no different. Some appliances with this type of feature may not be ideal for use with smart plugs.
