Yes you can, most of the time I have it open when the kids are playing in the room so I can keep a eye on them. It also have two-way intercom. You will be able to chat to and listen as well.

Yes. You can watch a continuous live stream (assuming you have the bandwidth to do so - most people do).

I have never watched for hours but I have watched for an extended period of time (15 minutes or so) and it didn't shut down.

Yes, I continuous see any movement without recording approximate 5 minute or more is greats this camara and very clear de image and video.
