“Regarding the SD card recording...Can the recording function be set to activate only upon detecting motion? My situation is that I want to monitor for intrusion or rodent detection at my cabin which is 2 hours away and I may not visit for weeks.”

Please try again later.The Kasa Spot Pan and Tilt camera utilizes a micro SD Card (not included) for 24/7 recording, which does not utilize motion detection to start and/or stop recording clips, since it is always recording. That being said, it will still detect activity or motion in the zones you have set up, and even provides app-based notifications to your smartphone when motion is detected. Furthermore, within the Kasa app, there will be color-coded and specific indicators to provide insights into which place(s) within the 24/7 recorded video activity was detected.
