Great cam for the home
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great smart home camera that works with Alexa or Google Home. Very clear video when checking in on your home, family and pets. Definitely lives up to the high-quality with 1080p HD. Night vision is also clear. The tilt covers a lot of area. You should expect some blind spots but for the most part you will see the areas that are important. Using the rotation controls on the app is smooth and real-time. The two-way audio is clear when receiving it on your phone. The cam mic picks up noise well. The only downsides that I have come across is the audio isn't as loud through the cam and you need to hold the mic control on the app for a little bit longer after you've finished what you have announced. If you don't, a few last words can be cut off. Overall very please with this purchase (especially since I got it at a sale price of $34.99). Highly recommended!

DO NOT BUY
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.WORST security camera ever! 95% of time it won’t record -says insert 8GB-128GB SD card even when there is an 128GB in it. When it does record it will not overwrite old videos so it only works for 4 days, then you need to manually eject SD card put it in a computer, wipe it, reinsert it. When you try to view the videos it did record from the SD card it worked once - but now won’t play anything (just gray screen) so it’s either not recording or the video is corrupted. Either way useless. I’ve reacted out to customer support twice and have never hear back from them. I missed the return window so it’s going in the trash. Pros -tracks movement Cons -won’t record reliably

Posted .Hello,
Thank you for your review. In your case we would first recommend ensuring you are using a Class 10 Micro SD card for optimal compatibility. The camera should not require manually wiping the oldest footage/files, as it is designed by default to automatically overwrite the oldest once the card is full. In your case we highly recommend ensuring your Kasa app is fully up to date, then please check for, and install any firmware updates for the camera under Main Menu → Settings → Firmware Update.
If you would like assistance with any of these steps, please reach out to our free support team using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.
Thank you,

Good for price.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s nice to get alerts from motion and be able to control the camera from half way around the world, just wish it was a little smaller for other applications. But recommend, good for price.

MUST BUY! MUST HAVE!
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this camera to watch my cats and it’s very impressive! Really great camera solution and so many great fraud that came with it like motion detection and you can have the camera follow the motions or simply do it yourself (360degress motion) which you can also do up and down. Also, you can set it for night vision! If you have an SD card, then it’s very beneficial so that everything’s recorded. There’s also speaker/audio that’s really good, very convenient. I definitely recommend to everyone this camera!!

Must buy at this price point!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is such an incredible buy at this price point. Easy to install: Download app. Plug in cam. Pair your phone with the cams install WiFi signal. Set up your cam (less than 5 min) and your done! You should really buy an micro SD card (128GB) for recording your footage. Alerts are pretty quick. You can immediately click on the alert on your phone and it takes you to “live view”. Video quality is pretty good. Pan and tilt on the cam are silent! Down side is that the zoom isn’t a true zoom but simply enlarging the image where you are trying to look at. So the image quality is quickly reduced but still passable. You can turn off the green light on the cam from the app so it doesn’t draw attention but keep in mind in the dark you can see the IR sensors at work. Also when switching from darkness to light and vise versus (night vision) the cam emits a loud clicking noise which may draw attention to it. The app is easy to use and you can actually schedule when you want the cam to record. Date and time! Nice feature. 24/7 recoding (128GB SD card recommended). With that enabled you don’t need to pay for the subscription service to be able to view “events” that your cam alerts you to. If you get an alert and can’t click on it on time to watch what happened exactly when the alert was triggered not a problem because you were recording the whole time. At 128GB it will be able to record 24/7 for a while but I’m not sure if it will record over itself when full (doubt it). So most likely will need to reformat the card. This cam is an amazing buy for what it does at this price point. Can’t stress it enough that this is a great buy if you want great security on the cheap without cheap quality. The cam itself is plastic and light. May not last a fall if you don’t secure it right from a ceiling (yes you have that option. Comes with the kit). Overall this is a five star cam for sure.

Easy to use and install and software is great
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a camera that I got on sale for $30 it has worked well and even though it’s not rated for outside use I always had it outside. The fact that it can move from left to right or up and down makes it great for outside use. The picture quality and resolution can be changed from 720 to 1080p if you’re home has fast internet which most will. It does have night mode as well so you can see things in the dark. However if you have it outside be prepared to have bugs all over it. It’s great for indoors as I originally bought it as a baby camera. Which worked well. The hardware to hang this camera is simple only takes a screw or 2 and it’s light enough that you don’t have to worry about it falling. It’s easy to take out and change the micro SD card. Also it uses MicroSD which you have to buy separately if you want it to record. And also the software you use in your phone is pretty good for being a standalone device. You can actually pair up to 4 similar devices and network them together to view in your phone app. It’s a decent system and I would highly recommend it. I don’t know the price it currently is but even at $40-50 would be a decent purchase because it’s easy to use and install.

Great camera for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The prices of these cameras have come down in price by large amounts of cash over the years. When i first got into the market back in 2012, the cameras came with less functions and cost substantial more. I paid over $350 apiece for 4 indoor security cameras with pan and tilt capability but no night vision. This current crop of cameras are awesome for the price. The Kasa is stupid easy to setup and get running right out of the box. You almost don't need the directions. You can set patrol zones, has 2 way communication, low light capability, and youbcan do cloud or on-board storage of video. The camera can be triggered by motion or sound and can be set to alert you. The video quality is 1080p and is very good. The sound quality is good also. The app is easy to use and integration with Alexa or Google is painless. For under $40 this is a great camera. My advice for anyone wanting to use theae cameras as part of a security network, i would recommend plugging every camera into a backup battery along with your router/modem so that in the event of a power outage your cameras and network don't go down. I did this for the cameras in my security system years ago and it works great.
