No it does not start recording off of a noise. This device records 24/7. It will show the owners when movement is detected. And at any time you can listen in on your camera. This devise has two way audio with the app.

This camera utilizes a rolling recording method, so once the card's capacity is reached, the oldest video data will be overwritten.
