“Can this camera be used to monitor family member who is in a nursing home which is an hour away?”

• It would have to connected to WiFi at nursing home . If nursing home would allow it then yes you could mine works fine over several hundred miles. The pan function will always pan toward sound I.e. tv,radio etc.

• If nursing home has Wi-Fi for camera to connect to yes. Just plug into outlet and connect it to Wi-Fi and you can monitor thru app on phone from anywhere.
