You plug it in and it works after a second or two. No cd or other downloads required.

Plug and play on my Windows 10 laptop, but I had to use the CD that came with it for my Windows 98 desktop.

If you are running Windows 10 everything necessary is already built into the operating system. Plug it into the USB port the system will recognize a new device. Setup a new WIFI network with a name and password. Open the action center form the lower right-hand corner of the screen. enable the WiFi and or Mobile Hot Spot.

Its kind of like that i just plugged mine in but it does have a disc.

This product comes with a cd. I am running windows 10 and I did not have to use the cd. I suppose the drivers needed for the adapter were already installed on windows 10.
