Can you put a password on it and set a timer null

Yes I have placed a password. Not sure about the timer.

Once setup, the WiFi extender will use the same WiFi password as your router. Yes, you can use the extender's Power Schedule feature to set when you want the extender to be on or off. Regards, TP-Link Support
