The answer given by TPLinkSupport is not right. I have this doorbell (model TD25) and if you hardwire it, you CAN use your existing chime. You MUST however go through the setup correctly: 1. Enter the device settings page, on Tapo app. 2. Tap user Guide 3. After that, in my case I then chose 'Mounting Guide' 4. Follow the instructions and make sure to select Disable Always-On mode and to Use Existing Chime.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm using both the chime and the legacy doorbell. You don't use the jumper when doing this. I have not tried it with the chime unplugged.
