With a 400 minute card you get a full years of service. So there are no monthly limits, what you added, is what you have for the entire year. For the 400 minute card, with a newer smartphone, you get triple everything. So you added 1200 units for Calling, 1200 Text messages, and 1.2 Gb of WWW data. If you find yourself running low on text messages, you can buy a separate card for 1000 Text messages for $10.00. The same for internet, but that's pricey. My advice is to turn off the Data switch in settings so you only use it when you must. Keep your WiFi set to your home's set up, and also set your phone up for the WiFi in places you frequent. That way, as soon as it detects one of those hotspots, it will connect. The most costly part of Tracfone is the Data, so try not to use it. Oh, one good thing, all unused units, texts, and data will carry over to the next service contract. Just be sure you renew before it runs out.

For example, a 60 minutes “Pay As You Go” TracFone card redeemed on a smartphone will provide 180 minutes for voice, 180 text messages and 180 MB of data. Voice calls are charged at the rate of one (1) unit per minute. Text messages are charged at the rate of one (1) unit per text. Data is charged based on actual usage.
