You won't lose your minutes, but you will lose the tripling feature(if you had it on the old phone). If you were like me, one of the main reasons I bought the Tracfone Id did was the triple Talk/Text/Data feature. If you buy 100 talk minutes, you get text and data along with it. This set up goes bye bye if you switch phones, under the same account. That's how they get ya.
