What’s the advantage of buying a ‘branded TracPhone’? null

The advantage is that quite often a merchant will "package" a branded Tracfone with a plan at a very attractive price. As an example, QVC recently packaged a branded Tracfone with 1 year of service (with minutes/texts/data) at a price that was only slightly above the 1 year of service cost. so the phone ended up being almost free.

Some of the Tracfones have better phone coverage, than buying an unlocked phone. Unlocked phones are better in the long run for storage and picture quality.
