WHY CAN BUTTONS BE PUSHED WHILE PHONE IS CLOSED? null

No not really and the touch screen turns off when you close it. That is why I got it. It does beep at me sometimes when the side button is pushed, but it only turns on the external display. I have had it a few days. So far so good. I have had trouble with phones having a life of their own inside my pocket. Somehow it did mange to dial a 3 once when I was crouching down, but no harm done.
