Customers are enthusiastic about the ZTE Cymbal T LTE's ease of use and large keys, which make it accessible for various users. However, many find the phone's size and weight to be excessive, impacting overall user experience. Concerns were also raised regarding the camera quality and battery life, suggesting areas for potential improvement. The screen size proved to be a point of contention, with some finding it too small while others found the phone too large overall.

OK for basic smart phone

I bought this phone for my mother who can't use a standard smart phone.
THE BAD:
It is heavier than my moto x and far heavier than a basic flip phone. When using the phone function, there is no unique dtmf tone for each number pressed. When displaying pictures or video the screen cuts off part of the picture compared to a standard smart phone. My mother keeps turning off the ringer because she grabs the phone on the left side right where the volume controls are. When opening the flip, it is too easy to touch the screen changing the home screen to a different screen.
THE GOOD.
The keypad is easy to use to dial a number for those persons who can't use the touch screen. There is one customizable key which can go direct to the dial function. The speed dial keys work directly from the home screen, so no need to bring up the dialer.

It's a decent android smartphone that has a flip pone design. Its a durable phone as I've dropped it a few times with now damage to it or the screen. The biggest issue is its short on space at only 8gb, and half of that is used by the system itself, you're left with 4gb for apps. And since you can only use that space for apps it really limits what you can do. A small saving grace is you can move part of some apps to the expandable memory but half or more of that will still be on that original 4gb. I have a 32gb expansion card and with three coupon apps, Ibotta, Savingstar, & Checkout 51, The customery google apps, my prefered search Bing, Uber & Lyft, a news app, a weather app, a step tracking app, and two store apps, and a restaurant app all with half stored on the card I've run out of space and can't update them any more. So be warned if you're app heavy. Also a small issue I've had is when you close the phone it might reboot its not a big problem you just have to reopen it to fully reboot other wise it will turn off instead. Worth it if you are looking for a simple smart phone that works and can run apps, just not a lot though.

It is a good cross-over for those not ready for a typical smart phone.
It does chew up data when not on WiFi. And it will randomly open apps when closed in your pocket. The small screen is not easy to read without glasses. I only got it to have access to my e-mail, and a texting format that is easier to enter than the keypad and can show a 'conversation'. The camera is not the best quality, but not the intended use.
REALLY not a fan of the Google and browser tracking, so I shut off & delete "Big Brother" whenever I can.

Purchased this for my Mom. She needed a new cell phone. So far she’s been able to understand it for her basic needs. All she wants is to be able to make and receive calls, and occasional texts.

My husband didn't like the touch smart phone I bought him last year. He had a hard time making and receiving calls. I bought this one since it was a flip phone and has a keypad. He has no problem using it.

I purchased the ZTE Cymbal T as a replacement for my old LG420G flip phone and I am very happy with it !
It runs Android Lollipop and has a touchscreen and although the screen is 3.5 inches, I can type on it fine...
I also have email in addition to texting and phone calling.
It gives triple minutes of calling minutes and texts (a 200 minute card will provide 600 minutes and 600 texts and 600 MB of data) if you buy the standard time card and not the smartphone card which won't give you the triple minutes...
The screen doesn't auto rotate and there's no option for it in the settings...
It's a comfortable phone to hold and the keys are large and you can text with them, but I find the on screen keyboard far easier to use...
All in all, I love it !

I was looking to replace another pay as you go phone and this one seemed to fit the bill. It was a bit heavier than what I was expecting. Also longer than a normal phone. All in all it makes and receives phone calls and is fairly easy to set up. For the price it is a good deal.

Phone works great, being a flip phone is the best part. Camera works good but it could use a flash for indoor shots. Nice to have information screen on the outside. 32 gig card holds tones of music and photos.

Updated from traditional TracFone to a smart phone. Couldn't keep my old minutes, but never use them all anyway so it wasn't a big deal for me. If I would have wanted a new phone number it would have been better. Took three days to get my old phone number back. But I have to say, customer service was nice about it, and very helpful (other than losing the minutes). I wasn't in a hurry, but I can see how the wait would frustrate people. The big problem is the phone itself. This phone is used by someone who works outside and keeps the phone in his pocket. The unit doesn't seem to close without a gap, so changes in pressure result in lots of randomly pressed buttons which is very annoying. We used to have no problems with reception on the old phone, but this one doesn't seem to want to receive calls all the time. And calling out sometimes results in these annoying "You don't have any call time/data remaining" messages or something about the carrier not being available. But it works fine when calling out. All in all, I would rather go back to the old (non-smart) TracFone. Not worth the hassle. The only real reason I still have it is to salvage some of my money back, and because I hate monthly bills. In that respect, TracFone is great because it's the only plan in my area that I can pay once a year and be done.

I bought this for my mom. She wanted to get some smartphone features, but didn't really like using touchscreens. She liked the convenience of answering and hanging up by opening and closing the phone. Since she didn't have the need for all the features of a smartphone, this thing is a good compromise. She can get her email and do some mild internet browsing. Be warned though, this thing is pretty big when the phone is flipped open. Decent size screen and large keys.

For the price, I am quite surprised for what this Flip Phone can do.
I didn't expect this phone to perform like other much more expensive smart phones, but for me, it does what I need and more, and at a great value..

Paid a substantial amount of money for this phone and it has its querks. Sometimes dials arbitrarily while in your pocket without tuching it or even opening the phone. Not very user friendly. Does not always have a great signal. Was recommended by Trac phone personnel. When calling Trac phone , 99% of the time you speak to someone that you can NOT understand. What ever happened to communication in plain english with great communication skills ?

Bought the phone for my mother, whose eyesight and dexterity are fading somewhat. Buttons were big enough - and gave a good enough tactile response - to make it easy to manipulate,
It has a touch screen and fairly typical Android interface, so those familiar with that world will feel at home, For someone who is Losing their memory, it is a bit complicated.

This phone has a good connection, but it's very long. You have to adjust its placement in order to be properly heard and clearly hear any return conversations. If you have a small head, don't bother. Otherwise this is a perfectly functional phone.

As a phone this works well. But screen is small and font is too [yes it's set to large]. Hard to read many things. Also it keeps turning off wifi and I don't know why. Good idea, but more work needed on this phone.

Bought for hub who did not want to let go of his flip phone. He is not a huge user but needs it to text and make calls when needed. He likes to keep in pocket when at work and flip open to make calls. Is learning how to use apps now as it is a full functioning android 4G phone. . My son, who is 15, thinks it is the coolest phone as well as it is the best of both worlds. The screen is a 3.5" so a little small for today's likes.. but when you open to make a call, it is a fabulous sized phone!! All in all I give it the full 5 stars now for its functionality and looks and use capabilities. It is a sturdy phone if you ever drop it by accident as the screen is protected. . He has been using for 2 weeks now so we will see how well it does. Price was right and it is a pay as you go phone so the service is super cheap as well!! A win-win for us and it serves us perfectly. Price was amazing too.

It has a lot more than I need. I am also not sure how to access my account, but I believe that it will be more useful once I figure things out. One of the reasons that I got this one, is the possible need for apps and that my older phone was no longer holding a charge.
