The 80000/012DS model has hardwood handles, while the 80000/004DS has Polywood handles. Also the 80000/004DS is the only one out of the two that is dishwasher safe however, harsh dishwasher detergents may dull the finish of the handles and stain the blades over time, so handwashing is recommended.
