I don't believe so. Last year I attempted to use TurboTax and was told I needed to update to windows 10?

No, you can use TurboTax Desktop on any operating system listed in the products system requirements (Windows 8/Windows 8.1/Windows 10). Windows 7 is no longer a supported operating system.
