No. This should be fine for any single port 3.5 like on a os4 controller. The splitter is for a pc that requires separate jacks for input and output.

These headphones have a standard audio jack 3.5mm so the PS4 controller shouldn’t need a splitter.

I use it with my PS4 with no splitter. Look at your controller and there will probably be a 3.5mm jack.

No they will plug directly into the controller and both mic and headphones work perfectly
