type cover keyboard I currently have the surface pro. I'm going to buy the surface 3.
Is the keyboard interchangeable on these 2 devices. It appears so based on the pictures.

I purchased the keyboard for the Suface 3 and it works perfectly on my Surface Pro. I believe my Surface Pro type keyboard would work with the Surface 3, but I would suggest getting the Surface 3 keyboard instead. Much better tactile feel and touchpad is much better. Also, it will fit properly while the keyboard for the Surface will not full cover the screen of the Surface 3

The two devices are different sizes, so I don't think the keyboards are interchangeable.

The port should be the same, but the size is different. The keys are the same size, but the perimeter around the keys is smaller for the Surface 3 so that the overall footprint is the same size as the screen. If you don't intend to use it as a cover, just as a keyboard once in a while, you should be fine. If you want to use the keyboard as a screen cover, unfortunately you'd need to shell out another $130. :/

Yes, it does work on both, or to go a step further, it also works on the Surface 2. The problem that I ran into is that I LOVE my Surface 2's flat backlight keyboard and have upgraded to the Surface 3. It works well on the 3, however there is a with difference if you are looking to purchase the folio case.

I bought the Surface 3 type cover because I was told that the cover for the Surface 3 had a different connection. I tried the Surface 2 type cover on the surface 3 and it worked perfectly The only difference between covers is that the cover for the Surface 2 does not cover the screen of the Surface 3 completely.,
The Surface Pro 3 has a bigger screen than the Surface 3; so I think the covers may not be interchangeable. . .
