Keep in mind the back of the Switch is intake for the fan exhaust on the top of the console. The speakers are on the bottom of the Switches screen on the front.

Please try again later.I would say yes...on the box it shows that it has vent holes for the back of the charger...but there aren’t any holes which is false visual advertising....when i play with the charger on i put the top vent up to my face and my Switch blows super hot air....I will only use this device to charge my system...not charge and play at the same time....

Please try again later.Absolutely it's common sense just look at it there's no ventilation going into the back at all only airflow going out but it doesn't do any good if there's no airflow going in. Yes this will totally over here switch I noticed it gets hotter also really soon after plugging it in playing it for a while.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sorry dude, those grills in the bottom back are NOT speakers. They are the intake for the fan. The speakers are in the front bottom. Yes it blocks your intake making it harder for your system to keep itself cool. Is it going to do any kind of permanent damage? Who knows

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Some people are assuming that the grills in the back of the switch are for ventilation. These are for the speakers. The only vent is on top of the switch. The battery does not block this.

The only vent is the large one on top of the switch. The battery pack will not interfere with the ventilation. But I must tell you the battery pack is very large and heavy and can be uncomfortable to grip.
