• It will handle both bands without the need for any manual setup on your part. 2.4 only devices will connect at 2.4. For dual band devices the router has a feature (Band Steering) which directs devices to 5.0 first and if the signal degrades it will connect at 2.4

• Ignore the first answer, not everything likes smart connect WiFi. Yes you can make other SSIDs with just the 2.4 band.
