Any one else have trouble party up two hyperboom together? And does anyone else have issue after pairing up to hyper booms mine cut out and then completely stop playing any sound from both speakers .... wondering if it a app issue null

I have been having this same issue. The two speakers in party up mode can be 10 ft apart within line of sight and still the receiving speaker crackles and drops out or distorts sound constantly. It’s incredibly disappointing. I have switched which speaker is the primary Bluetooth device and the issue persisted. Seems it is a very weak signal emitted by these speakers. They do not perform anywhere near what advertised.

Man, just submitted a question that I think explains this n is very disappointing while also defeating the purpose of me purchasing this line! Wanted whole house audio... It appears the primary speaker becomes the BT transmitter for all other paired speakers. The transmitter in the speaker has less range than those in your typical phone. So, I can sit in a room in my house, play n control the first speaker just fine by itself. However, party up and have that 2nd speaker sitting in the room I’m in with my phone, totally distorted and when it gets bad enough, both will turn off. I was really looking forward to these!!!! The Speakers as stand alones are awesome, but who needs to connect them all in the same room or less than 20 ft apart. Wish that 150 ft advertised range carried over, at least somewhat, from speaker 1 to 2... I’ve found places in my home that are less than 15 ft with distortion in party up mode

I'm also having the same problems. Got it to work with my phone by using the app, but it's sludgy and inconsistent. Spent 3 hours trying to get it to work on the Mac with no success. The instructions from Logitech (which were copied below) don't seem to apply. On the app it talks about 'tap the menu in upper left corner (three bars) to make them automatically power up in dual locked mode... but there is no menu or three bars on any screen. Feel like there is a lot of information left out of the instructions. Or perhaps it just doesn't work at all?

It's the whole reason for buying 2 of these. They are big loud speakers, so it would be nice to have a stereo system set up in the house, that can be moved outside whenever. But I don't want it running on my phone, just on the computer. Shouldn't be this complicated.

The trick i found is not to use the app. On my Samsung S21 you can pair them through bluetooth.

Select both speakers in bluetooth mode flick down the menu from the top of the phone choose media output then you can pair them.... no crackle no dropout.... works sooooo well.

The U.E boom app does sux a bit to be honest by passing it works so much better.

If you have a bluetooth 5 device (e.g. iPhone 14), you can connect to multiple different bluetooth speakers, using your phone as the primary device, without needing a 3rd party app (i.e. the BOOM app). That way, you can rely on your phone's long range bluetooth transmitter, rather than the hyperboom's poor quality transmitter, to send audio signals to your hyperboom speakers : )

Same, I bought two just for the option to play them at the same time. I had them 6' apart and it worked once for about 15 minutes. I have tried everything but can only play them one at a time. The app picks up that there is a second speaker in the room but wont drag and drop it. I have downloaded and uninstalled the app a couple of times. No updates to it or the speakers. Major thumbs down for me!!

Yep same problem. I teach dance classes and wanted a quick easy set up. Exact opposite. Have had to teach most lessons with one speaker. Now looking to sell them. How annoying. Amazing quality sound but manual pairing doesn't work and through the app... it either drops out or doesn't register the second speaker. So much frustration dealing with this..

I have tried on AppleTV latest generation, iPhone, iPad and the app works very inconstant.
I tried to connect without the app NO CHANCE TO to connect them.
I did a factory reset and still the same issue.

For what the manufacture advertise - the pairing sucks. My next purchase will not be UE.

I put 4 Ultimate Hyperboom speakers not far from each other, at corner on wooden floor

I used to have that problem with 2 Hyperboom speakers.
Then bought a 3rd Hyperboom, cut
out still a problem still 
And makes it worse when I bought a 4 Hyperboom speaker 
Sometimes It takes 45 minutes still not working 
I try two things and it works without any cut out for 10 hrs for 4 Hyperboom speakers.
Identify the Ultimate Hyperboom that didn't work, causing the cut out.
Turn all 4 Hyperboom speakers off
Out of the 3 Hyperboom speakers that works 
Turn 1 working Hyperboom speaker on
Once that connect to Bluetooth to your phone 
The phone I connect my Bluetooth 4 Hyperboom speakers bought from Warehouse Smart P 11 for $75 New Zealand 
Then turn the Ultimate Hyperboom speaker that doesn't work or cut out on
Once 2nd Speaker connects
Go to App
Go to middle bottom button that shows the 2 Hyperboom speakers 
Go to top left button looks like a star 
That is the Speaker Setting 
Look for the Party Up 
Because the speaker is Private 
Need to change to Public 
Hit the button next till Public button turn blue 
Should work without cut of from speaker 
Then I go back and connect my 3rd Ultimate Hyperboom

I am pretty sure this is an Android bluetooth issue.  I can PartyUp using an Apple device with no issues.  But using my Samsung phone gives me all kinds of trouble.  Works fine right at first.  But 5 minutes in and I get the dreaded crackling.

Jeez the response from Logitech/ UE is the opposite of helpful, just like the documentation and the customer service options.

It seems to me that the software was written for ios and then adapted to android, and using (most) apple devices will work fine but that main features fail or are buggy when paired with an android.

After much effort and headache I was able to pair a megaboom 3 with two newer boom 3 speakers from my galaxy s21 ultra.

Some tips:
Bluetooth identifies the type of audio device and you can change this setting. Mine were all set to different options so i set them all to 'Speaker'

Hard reset is power + volume down for 10 seconds. 
One at a time reset, unpair from phone, pair again, then assign a custom name for each speaker. Power off all devices. 
Next, uninstall and reinstall app, then bluetooth pair the two similar devices or hopefully the two newest ones. Select these two under media output (pull down from top of screen, this is a large button on the right)
Now, open the app, choose party up, and drag both speakers into the party. 
This might take a long time, but after it works, turn on your third (or more?) Speaker. It should show up and then you also drag it into the party.
It took ~6 minutes but finally started playing music from all 3 and sounded great.

All that being said, unless something changes I will never buy another Ultimate Ears product. After getting them working occasionally at seemingly random the speakers would get out of sync, so the timing is off by as much as half a second.

Also sometimes they will not all pair, or even two of the new devices will have a timing issue. Occasionally i also get static/ crackles without moving phone or speakers, it just happens and sounds terrible.

I had the same issue, pairing drag and drop not working, even only one device at. I restarted my iPhone and now the Party up Mode works (with hyperboom and boom 2).

My speakers will not link up. Nothing would help phone or laptop did not matter. Now i no why there are so many open box deals. Found them as low as 220$ for 1. The Geek squad did not help wanted to charge me 200$ dollars come to link them and new it would not work

Yes , BuT we found it is your PHONE , My wifes Samsung 7 plays as you described , my Samsung A51 works Perfectly!!!!
We were ready to take them back !!! now we want a Third one !!!

Hello Josh,
I have been able to PartyUp two HyperBooms together, and they sound fantastic! There is an Ultimate Ears App for Boom and a different one for Blast. Please download the Ultimate Ears Boom App. I recommend connecting to each speaker individually, to ensure that each Hyperboom speaker has the latest Firmware updates. The Ultimate Ears app will give a red alert on the top right side of the app, if the primary connection has an available update. Also, please ensure that the location and Bluetooth settings are turned on for your device. Each HyperBoom speaker has two Bluetooth connections, an Optical connection and also a 3.5 mm input. I find it is easiest to power the speaker on through the app, so that the device will automatically connect to the assigned connection. Tap the PartyUp icon at the bottom of the app, slide the additional speaker into the party, and you should be in PartyUp mode. Enjoy your Ultimate Ears speakers, and please reach out if further assistance is needed. Support can be reached directly through the Ultimate Ears Boom app.
