“Does this camera have to be plugged in all the time you want to use it with a cord hanging in your way or does it charge up a battery & then you can use it cord free when you drive .If it is rechargeable ,can you recharge in your house overnight with USB?”

Unit should be plugged in. There is a battery but it doesnt last very long.

Please try again later.After I got mine working, I went back to Best Buy to the outdoor car install section (run by Geek Squad) and had them professionally install the cable so it looks rather nice. I had to come back for my appointment, but once he started, it only took 15 minutes and was well worth the expense.
