In loop mode, the camera continuously records one minute clips and when the memory card is full the oldest clips are overwritten. What happens if a collision is detected, is that the most recent clip is stored in a different place on the memory card that doesn’t get overwritten. I find that my event folder often contains clips that got triggered by nothing more than hitting a bump on the road.

If there is an “event” the clip gets stored in a folder that will never get overwritten. What you will get stored in the “event” folder in the case of a collision is up to one minute prior to the collision. Keep in mind that you can remove the micro SD card and copy off the entire contents which would be around 4 hours for the 16 GB card.
