The manual says the internal battery (I don't believe it is replaceable either), will only last 10 minutes MAX if you turn it on after you shut off the car (or the power supply). So, you have up to a max of 10 minutes recording time from when you turn off the car, unless your car's power supply will remain on when you shut off the car.

As long as you have power it will record. I used mine to do overnight recording while it was parked.

Yes. You can have it rewired to a constant power source. Try to verify if your cigarette lighter already provides a constant power.

yes, but you have to have it plugged in, the battery will not last very long
