QuestionCan this model be used in other countries, p.ex. south america?

- Answer This unit picks up K, Ka and X band frequencies, so if those are used in another country, it will work there. The unit functions in Mexico, Bahrain, and New Zealand for example.

- Answer Yes. You can turn off the other bands (x band, k band, and ka band) you can even turn off the laser function if you choose.

QuestionSo out of these three radar dectors This one I’m commenting on and the Uniden r3 dsp long range laser/radar dector and the Escort x80 radar dector Which one would you choose for the money and why. I’m looking at the uniden dfr5 because it’s cheap

- Answer DFR5 uniden this radar detector is on point. if it gives you a voice alert there's a cruiser close by every time. I love this thing it's paid for itself already.

- Answer Yes it does. You get a quick beep followed by a voice indicating which band you've picked up. Get one of these definitely works.
