• The keyboard folds up against the case and is secured at the corner by an elastic band. Haven’t had any issues with it on mine.

• This case covers just the body of the surface, but does allow use and storage/transport of the keyboard.

• If you're not using the keyboard, then you'll have the place it in another place. The protective case includes a small string that helps you keep the keyboard close when not using the surface but for storing the keyboard you'll have to put it in a bag or something.

• Yes, the type cover remains attached to the Surface Pro. At one corner of the case is a small elastic band used to keep the type cover from flopping open.
