A:Answer You have to purchase the electronic gift card first. Once Best Buy completes your order, they will email you a link to access the gift card. At that point, you can either redeem the gift card for yourself or you can send it as a gift. It shouldn't matter either way because the gift card is a unique code that must be entered into your epic games account.
