yes! We use our fire stick to watch movies and shows on the projector and it works perfectly. You can also use the included usb cable that powers the fire stick. Plug the usb into the 5v usb input and the micro end into the fire stick and boom! 1 less cable. I have mine about 20 ft away. Just need to adjust the screen size accordingly. It projects the whole screen at 120in but i had to set it to a smaller aspect ratio but the picture quality is still great.

To answer your question, no. You would need the projector to be closer. The manual states that that "the recommended projection screen is around 90 inches with a distance of 9.84 feet".
