As long as you have a place to put it, sure. You can install it anywhere you want to. I have a 2012 Chevy Traverse. By the directions, the rear camera should be mounted above the license plate (when you put the vehicle in reverse, it adds back up indicators (red yellow green) for distance away from the back of the car. I placed my rear camera inside my vehicle up under the top end of the hood (i.e. when I open my back hatch, the camera swings up with the hatch). The product comes with 2 sticky 2-way pads that allow you to mount it on any clean surface. My camera sits at the top of my vehicle (SAFTEY NOTE: one CANNOT use the indicators that automatically come up when you put your vehicle in reverse if it is not mounted outside, above the license plate.) My reasoning for the rear placement: 1. wiring...it was a hellova lot easier to just wire it up through the tailgate. 2. Weather: I do not ever have to worry about getting out and cleaning off the camera...I just turn on my rear wiper (in the rain) or wash the back window if it is dirty. I would also add that you should purchase 2 128 gig micro SD cards. I set mine up without volume and I need to exchange the cards, and erase the one not being used, about every 2.5 - 3 days. When you start your vehicle, get in the habit of touching the screen and look in the upper left corner...if it does not say "REC" then your SD card is full and you need to swap them out. Best of luck! I was fortunate to catch a burning RV the first weekend after I installed the system...camera quality is outstanding!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can install it where ever you are able. If you install it on your tailgate then when it's down you will only see ground. If you put it on back of cab you can see all. Licence plate mounting is low and when you tow large items you will be blocked. Unless you extend the wires to back of the tow wit the camera attached. Many options. None perfect. Your call
