With upgraded chip technology, VanTop HF609T mirror dash cam fulfills Ultra HD video resolution up to 1920*1080P@30fps for both front and rear view camera, presenting remarkable HD images and videos.
A: Both cameras record while the unit is powered on and the rear camera is installed correctly. I don't believe you can use 128gb card . I recall the largest to be 64gb or 32gb. 32 is fine for use. Just have it record over after 14 days of use. Good luck
Q: Does it show forward all the time or does it show the rear while driving? a safety concern.
A: It shows whatever you want: 1 front or 2 rear or 3 both on a split screen or 4 off to function as a normal mirror.
Q: Can the rear camera be installed on a pickup?
A: As long as you have a place to put it, sure. You can install it anywhere you want to. I have a 2012 Chevy Traverse. By the directions, the rear camera should be mounted above the license plate (when you put the vehicle in reverse, it adds back up indicators (red yellow green) for distance away from the back of the car. I placed my rear camera inside my vehicle up under the top end of the hood (i.e. when I open my back hatch, the camera swings up with the hatch). The product comes with 2 sticky 2-way pads that allow you to mount it on any clean surface. My camera sits at the top of my vehicle (SAFTEY NOTE: one CANNOT use the indicators that automatically come up when you put your vehicle in reverse if it is not mounted outside, above the license plate.) My reasoning for the rear placement: 1. wiring...it was a hellova lot easier to just wire it up through the tailgate. 2. Weather: I do not ever have to worry about getting out and cleaning off the camera...I just turn on my rear wiper (in the rain) or wash the back window if it is dirty. I would also add that you should purchase 2 128 gig micro SD cards. I set mine up without volume and I need to exchange the cards, and erase the one not being used, about every 2.5 - 3 days. When you start your vehicle, get in the habit of touching the screen and look in the upper left corner...if it does not say "REC" then your SD card is full and you need to swap them out. Best of luck! I was fortunate to catch a burning RV the first weekend after I installed the system...camera quality is outstanding!
Q: So it have to be plugged into the cigarette lighter
A: Yes, the connection is for a cigarette lighter. A hard-wire kit can be install if cigarette lighter is not provide in car.
Q: Does it record in cabin audio, and if yes can you turn off the microphone
A: This unit allows you to mute your in cabin audio. You should watch the YouTube intro video on all of its features. Best 5 min spent in my book. Enjoy!
Q: What are the view angles of front and back cameras ?
A: 130 degrees on both the front and rear cameras
Q: Can this be used in front view only? My vehicle has a backup camera and want to avoid conflict.
A: Yes, just dont install the rear one.
A: Stop the recording, and can play on the dash cam itself.
